Q: I've heard a lot about "sugaring" lately. What is it, and why is it so popular?
A: Body sugaring is the ancient art of hair removal. Cleopatra would have used this method to keep her skin smooth and hairless. At Masters School of Hair Design, students are trained in the Advanced Method of Alexandria Body Sugaring. This is a safe, comfortable and very effective way of removing unwanted body and facial hair.
Only pure and natural ingredients are used. There are absolutely no perfumes in the products - the sugar paste itself is made of water, sugar and lemon juice.
The sugar paste is not hot. It is applied at body temperature and will not burn the skin. Therefore, it is perfectly safe for use in areas with spider veins and will not break down the underlying connective tissue in the skin, which can lead to premature wrinkling.
It is sanitary. Bacteria cannot grow in sugar. Since the amount of paste needed is removed from the jar and used only on that client, there is no cross-contamination.
Sugaring gets great results. When the paste is applied, it wraps itself around the hair shaft, making it easier to remove very short hairs. (That is great news for "first-timers", as no one likes the growing out part.) The hair is pulled out in the direction of growth, hence, no breakage.
Those who get this service done on a regular basis, will find that the hair grows in softer and finer than with most other methods of temporary hair removal. Eventually, some hairs will not grow back at all!
